COPE’s Enterprise Programme is an innovative way to help poor people get on to the first rung of the ladder and earn a dignified living as they deserve. We provide means of earning a sustainable income to people in urban areas of Karachi, through the donation of Auto Rickshaws which is life changing, not only to the beneficiaries, but also generations to follow.

At COPE UK, our Enterprise initiatives are designed to spark economic opportunity and create sustainable livelihoods within communities affected by poverty. We believe that empowering individuals with the means to generate their own income is a crucial step towards breaking the cycle of poverty.

Our enterprise projects encompass a range of activities—from providing auto rickshaws and enterprise carts that enable local transportation and small-scale trade, to supporting livestock programmes that foster agricultural productivity. Each project is carefully crafted to meet the specific needs of the community, offering not just a product or service, but a chance to develop skills, build confidence, and secure a stable income.

We work hand-in-hand with local partners and beneficiaries, offering comprehensive support that includes training, mentoring, and access to resources. This holistic approach ensures that every enterprise project not only creates immediate job opportunities but also lays the groundwork for long-term economic resilience and community growth.

We also promote and facilitate independence through enterprise, adapting our support according to the specific needs of the communities. Through our Rural Enterprise project, we donate goats and sheep to poor families to enable them to earn a living by rearing animals and selling the milk and wool. This project is essential in helping build sustainable livelihoods.

Through our enterprise programmes, we are helping to build vibrant local economies where individuals can flourish, contribute to their communities, and create a legacy of sustainable development for future generations.
